The Diversity Collaborative held its annual town hall meeting on March 17th this year at Normandale Lake Office Park highlighting its 2014 accomplishments and 2015 mission objectives to an audience of over fifty local industry members. The Diversity Collaborative also awarded two $2,000 scholarships to students pursing education opportunities related to commercial real estate. The recipients included: Dina Intenga, a graduate of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School studying Construction Safety Management at U-W Plattesville; and Mandy Yang, a facilities manager employed at Hennepin County pursuing a Masters of Real Estate at St. Thomas.
Founded in 2010, by Lisa Dongoske and Michele Foster, the Diversity Collaborative, originally formed as an initiative comprised of local industry associations and led by the local MN NAIOP chapter, as part of its Diversity Task Force. Early partners included MSCA, ULI, MN Crew, BOMA Greater Minneapolis, IREM, MNCAR and CoreNET Global. Today, the Diversity Collaborative is composed of these association members, along with individual industry professionals who continued to support the Diversity Collaborative's mission to deliver our industry members, the tools, talent and opportunities to drive inclusiveness, diversity and future success.
